About Ken

Those who do, can also teach

Ken has been a middle/high school teacher for almost 20 years and has a Masters degree in Outdoor, Experiential Education. He has owned Pure Life Paddle Boards since 2012, designing, and riding his own gear and sharing stoke through a huge variety of SUP courses and programs. Ken has been a Paddle Canada certified Instructor since 2012 and an Instructor Trainer since 2015. He combines his passion for teaching and love of SUP in all of his courses and programs, from basic and advanced skills courses, to instructor training and mentoring. 

Why come and learn from Ken?

Ken is passionate about SUP and loves sharing his stoke.  He combines his SUP training with his teaching background to deliver dynamic experiences  for his clients that will facilitate their growth as paddlers . Ken focuses on efficiency and safety for all types of paddling, encouraging clients to maximize both their potential and enjoyment on a board.

Personal SUP Highlights

SUP has provided Ken the opportunity to meet all sort of amazing people and have some exceptional paddling experiences. Some of his most memorable have been:

-racing all over the Pacific Northwest 

-building  his own paddling skills and knowledge in river, surf and touring all around Western Canada

-paddling from Nanaimo to Vancouver (N2V)

-taking part in a 3-day, 140km self-supported paddle through Saskatchewan for mental health (KCPO)

-participating in Monster and Sea's 24 hour relay for families battling cancer
